2018 Course Feedback
This is just a short thank you message to you in particular and all the tutors.
Our children really enjoyed the Summer School and we enjoyed the Friday and Saturday evening concerts. The team of tutors were obviously extremely talented and inspirational to adults and children alike, but we also remarked on their professionalism and good example to the children in their conduct too. The Summer School is a unique experience and opportunity for all ages and abilities to participate and feel part of a team, working to a common goal under expert guidance. We really appreciate the commitment, enthusiasm and organisation that makes the Summer School a big success. Please pass on our thanks to all involved including your family who worked hard and with a smile at all times! Heather Finch |
I hope the summer school went well. My son, Peter attended the workshop in Belfast on Wednesday, and had a fantastic time. I would like to say a big thank you for the opportunity that a workshop like this affords youngsters, especially during the school holidays.
The solos and tutor group Disney rendition in the concert on a Wednesday evening were of such a high standard, how could the youngsters not be inspired?!! Please convey thanks and appreciation to your amazing tutors. Looking forward to next year... Many thanks Ian Wright |
I just want to thank you, your family, Wendy, the tutors and all responsible for the highly successful Brass Band Summer School. For me, it was the best musical learning experience that I have had in years and I will be recommending the course in 2019 to my fellow band members here in Limerick.
Thank you again and I hope that you get a chance to have a well deserved rest! Joe Moloney |
Les Neish really fantastic to see things like this being so successful. Growing up in Northern Ireland there was nothing like this, the kids today (and the kids from Wardle who came over) get tremendous opportunities. Well done to you and the team, Stephen Crooks Kathleen Gaspoz et al

Well we are back from a fantastic trip to Northern Ireland for the FTBBSS. I am so pleased that everyone who went had a great time and got something out of it. Whether it was one of the year 7 beginners or one of the 2 year 12’s. When this trip was first mentioned by Jane Conway and Gwennie Smith it was something I felt I needed to support as I knew it would be good for the players who went (and hopefully Megan would be one of those). It soon became apparent that numbers weren’t as high as anticipated and it may not be possible to run. I was approached for a price for the coach and told what they could afford! I had a look at what it would cost and thought I could possibly do something.
Coming back tonight and seeing all the kids (and Adults) knackered but still on a high from the experience has made it all worth while.
If Carlsberg did weekends!

And so the journey back home begins after what has been a very memorable & enjoyable few days at the FTBBSS. A special thanks to Stephen Crooks, Les Neish & all the team for making us feel so welcome. From the moment we arrived we were taken care of. It’s been fantastic to meet so many new friends! Our kids have certainly enjoyed every minute & have been lucky to experience being taught by some of the countries finest musicians. It’s been an absolute pleasure to see our own youth & junior band members burst with confidence over the last few days. Well done to Megan Ward on receiving (player of the course) you’ve been a star! 👏
The concert we played at yesterday afternoon in Enniskillen was greatfully received by the local community, who were blown away with our children’s professionalism. I personally am very proud of everyone that has taken part over the last few days, it’s been very humbling to see all ages & abilities work together. A personal highlight for me was to see my own two daughters Laura & Emma play with the tutor group, something I will never forget. Owen I hope your lip recovers very soon but thanks once again for drafting Emma Conway in!
See you all next year hopefully.
